N307 Meeting Reflection

Meetings in general involve at least 2 people (unless you’re schizophrenic), and they can be about any topic in the world. But most meetings happen between people who don’t agree on a certain topic, or people who want to discuss a Plan and the best way to inform them is all at once.
It usually happens like this: the members meet and they argue their points, not every meeting ends with a side conceding to the other and accepting the other’s ideas.
I believe meetings are one of the best ways to resolve disputes are by meeting, putting heads together and discussing possible solutions to such problem. I believe they are almost always effective.
The practice meeting was very similar to the graded meeting, everyone proposed great ideas. That usually happens when the members are familiar with one another, and are in sync.
If or when I become a Manager in the future, I will start meetings with people who work great together. That in my idea is all that’s required to have a great meeting.

Meeting Minutes:        College Enrollment
First we suggested that the Higher Colleges of Technology should add 3 or 4 extra Programs Students are likely to enroll for, like Software Engineering.
Second, we proceeded into discussing making the College feel more homely, and make the students want to go to college instead of wanting to return home as soon as possible. That could be achieved by adding a Mini Shopping Mall like Zayed University. There’s the possibility of adding a Cinema Theater and a Room for Resting or Napping too, some students work in the morning and have 2 or 4 hour breaks in between classes, so they could spend that time resting or enjoying their time at the College.
Next, discussed having the College provide new technological tools for students; after all it’s called the Higher Colleges of Technology. We provided a few examples, like Motion Technology replacing a Mouse on their Laptops.

Then, we thought it would be really great to make the courses more flexible to suit a Student’s comfort instead of making him feel pressured and required to stick to a certain pattern. Students should be given a list of Courses, a minimum requirement of Credits for each semester, and they would have to work with other students to reach a decision and pick the ones that fit their lives. A mediator would probably be needed to assist the students to pick the courses, in case they don’t agree with one another about the decisions.
After that, we suggested having Online Courses and a lot of students had a really positive reaction and attitude towards that idea. Some students have jobs, wives, kids, and a really tight schedule; others don’t live close to the college, and many students miss at least 1 class period at least once every semester; so having the course online and classes recorded would really solve many issues current students are having, and increase the chance of enrolling into the college by ten folds, because there won’t be the issue of classes being to small. We all agreed that it has a few issues, but in time there might be a way to deal with them, still a brilliant idea in my opinion.
Finally, we talked about having more internationally approved Courses since we only have a few of them. Should we do so and having nothing but internationally approved ones, students would receive a certificate which would allow them to continue their studies abroad, and become qualified to be employed almost anywhere in the world.
